The University of Iowa, the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the UI Recreational Services joined together to develop a 215,000 sq. ft. Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, among other essential uses, serves as the prestigious Hawkeye swimming and diving home. The state-of-the-art facility, located in the heart of the campus, includes the following amenities:
- 13,000 sq. ft. Competition Pool
- Large enough to host 25-yard, 25-meter, and 50-meter competition
- 1,200 spectator seats
- Two bulkheads
- Large video“display board”
- 4,400 sq. ft Dive Pool
- 25-yards long and 17 ft. deep
- 1 and 3-meter springboards
- 1, 3, 5, 7.5, and 10-meter platforms
- Sparger system for soft water landings
- 110 sq. ft. Dive Spa
- 11 person capacity
- 4,100 sq. ft. Recreation Pool
- Zero-depth entry, underwater benches, vortex, current channel, play features and rock climbing wall
- Water volleyball and water basketball
- 310 sq. ft. Recreation Spa
- 25 person capacity
